A federal judge blocked the deportation of at least 10 Guatemalan children from El Paso's international airport Sunday, Aug. 31.
The children were to be the first of nearly 700 deported to the Central American country.
El Paso's International Airport was the site of an extortionary drama over Labor Day weekend that highlights President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.
Ten children under the age of 18 descended from a waiting deportation flight. The sun beat down on the kids in black and gray hooded sweatshirts as they slowly walked out of the open door of the plane under the watchful eye of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. They carried their personal items in transparent plastic bags as they quickly descended the stairs into a waiting bus, which quickly whisked them away
