COBDEN — Lynne Moore of Cobden has won the $5 million LOTTO 6/49 Classic Jackpot, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced on August 27. The winning ticket was purchased at Beachburg Deli and Bakery on Beachburg Road.

Moore, a retired banker and long-time lottery player, said she usually plays the lottery twice a year, often adding the ENCORE option. She discovered her win in early June while checking a ticket at home.

“I said to myself, ‘Let me check this before I throw it out,’” Moore recalled during her visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings. She said she initially had difficulty believing she had matched all six numbers.
