The Hurricanes caught the eye of the college football world with their primetime win over Notre Dame on Sunday night.

AP poll voters rewarded Miami for its 27-24 win by moving UM from No. 10 to No. 5 in this week’s poll. UM also moved up to No. 5 in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 poll and No. 7 in the coaches poll.

The Hurricanes earned a similarly high spot last year, getting ranked as high as No. 4 in the AP poll last season.

Three of UM’s future opponents are ranked this week, including a pair of big rivals. Florida started the season ranked 15th. After beating F CS Long Island University 55-0 , the Gators moved to No. 13.

The bigger jump was Florida State, which pulled off arguably the biggest upset of the weekend by beating then-No. 8 Alabama 31-17 . The Seminoles went from unranked
