Chrysler is recalling more than 200,000 vehicles because the rearview camera image does not display properly.
The recall is for certain 2019 through 2020 Dodge Journeys and 2019 through 2021 Ram Promasters, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
In total, 219,577 Chrysler vehicles are being recalled because cracks in the microprocessor may cause the car’s rearview camera image to not display properly.
The screen may go blank, black, blue or inverted, preventing the driver from seeing what’s behind them. This can increase the risk of a crash.
Chrysler estimated that 100% of these recalled vehicles have the defect. The company did not say in its report whether it has received reports of accidents, injuries or fires in the United States as a result of thi
