SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Sioux City Explorers’ Manager Steve Montgomery has been named Manager of the Year by the American Association of Baseball.

This season Mongo guided the X’s to a league leading record of 64-36.

Montgomery is in his 11th season with the club. He is also the winningest manager in team history and has led the Explorers to the playoffs in eight of his 11 seasons.

He has also led the team to finals appearances in 2015 and 2019.

On August 12, his team broke the record for most stolen bases in a single season.
