Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 500,000 vehicles due to issues with the rear brakes.

The recall covers certain 2015 through 2018 Ford Edge models and 2016 through 2018 Lincoln MKK vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

In total, 499,129 Ford vehicles are being recalled because the rear brakes have jounce hoses that could rupture prematurely.

“A ruptured brake hose will cause a progressive brake fluid leak,” the report reads. “The driver may experience an increase in pedal travel together with an increase in stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.”

Ford estimates that 1% of these recalled vehicles could have the defect. The company added that it is not aware of any accident or injury related to this recall.
