A woman who died early Monday morning after her Middleborough home caught fire has been identified as 90-year-old Anne Tichelaar, the State Fire Marshal’s Office announced Tuesday.
On Sept. 1, Middleborough firefighters responded to 72 Everett St. shortly after 2:50 a.m. for a report of a house fire, the fire marshal’s office said in a press release. At the scene, they found heavy flames coming out of multiple windows on the first floor of the two-story, multi-family home.
Firefighters immediately entered the home to begin attacking the fire and found Tichelaar dead on the first floor of the home, the fire marshal’s office said. The state Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has been tasked with determining Tichelaar’s manner and cause of death.
