COCO Gauff slumped to a straight sets defeat to Naomi Osaka in the US Open fourth round.

Osaka took just over an hour to defeat the third seed in New York on Monday.

Gauff won the US Open back in 2023 and picked up her second Grand Slam in Paris earlier this year.

However, she has struggled with rhythm since her victory at the French Open .

Speaking after the loss, the 21-year-old said, "I think that [I'm] trying to be more positive.

"After the match, I was really disappointed. Kind of broke down to my team.

"Then, hearing their perspectives and everything, it definitely is a lot of positive things."

The 2023 champion was in tears on court after a win last week.

She later revealed that she suffered a panic attack.

Gauff had had a tough few weeks leading up to the US Open.
