Households across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire have been left with no water this evening (September 2). Other properties have had poor pressure or discoloured water since around 7pm.

The affected postcodes include ST6, ST7, ST8 and ST9. Now Severn Trent has apologised to customers as it works to resolve the issue. It is hoped water will be restored by 11pm.

A Severn Trent spokesman said: "We’d like to apologise to those experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water in the ST6, ST7, ST8 & ST9 area of Stoke-on-Trent this evening. We have found that the pumps that help us move water around your area have stopped working.
