WILMINGTON — DuPont has agreed to sell its Kevlar and Nomex business to Arclin for $1.8 billion in a bid to slim down the company before it faces the future as “new DuPont.”
The Delaware legacy company announced late Friday afternoon that it entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Aramids business to Arclin which is backed by private investment firm TJC.
Through the deal, DuPont will receive $1.2 billion cash and a note receivable of $300 million, indicating that the payment will be made at a later date. DuPont will also receive non-controlling interest at the future Arclin company valued at $325 million, or at 17.5% stake in the company. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
