Graham Greene, the acclaimed actor who earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in “Dances with Wolves,” died Monday at a Toronto hospital. He was 73.
Greene passed away with his wife of more than 30 years, Hilary Blackmore, by his side, his agent confirmed to TMZ . No cause of death was disclosed.
In a statement to Deadline , Greene’s agent said, “He was a great man of morals, ethics, and character and will be eternally missed. You are finally free.”
Greene was born on June 22, 1952, in Ohsweken, on the Six Nations Reserve in Canada. He worked odd jobs before turning to acting. Greene started on stage, and by the 1970s he was performing in professional Canadian and English theater productions.
