GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) -- Graves County has declared a State of Emergency due to extreme conditions leading to potential fire hazards.

Graves County Judge Executive Jesse Perry announced a ban on all open burning effective at noon on September 2, 2025.

Perry stated the order includes the following...

All open burning within the County of Graves is prohibited until further notice.

All local law enforcement personnel spall enforce this Executive Order per KRS 39A.180.

Any person who violates the ban on open burning established in this Executive Order shall be subject to penalties provided under KRS 39A.90, and/or such penalties as are provided under state law.

This Executive Order shall become effective at 12:00 p.m. CST on September 2, 2025 and remain in effect until further notice
