Fayetteville, 1908: Charles Von Berg, apparently in his yard, wrote on the death of Fayetteville National Cemetery director W.H. Barger. Von Berg, born in Germany, became a fixture in the American West, serving as an Army scout, trapper and artist, marrying at one point a Native American woman. He lived out the final years of his life in the home until 1918.
