A legendary filmmaker, who has faced controversy through the years, directed Donald Trump in a movie more than 25 years ago and recently praised the president’s acting chops.

Woody Allen, the winner of four Academy Awards, was behind the camera when Trump appeared in his 1998 film “Celebrity.”

“He was … a pleasure to work with and a very good actor. He was very polite and hit his mark and did everything correctly and had a real flair for showbusiness," Allen told Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast on an episode that released Monday.

In response, Maher referenced the allegations of sexual abuse lodged against Allen by his daughter, Dylan Farrow, telling the director: “If you think you’re canceled now ...”

Allen also sparked controversy by marrying his adopted stepdaughter Soon-Yi Prev
