Gila Ridge High School students are expected to return to campus on Tuesday, Sept. 2, following its closure Tuesday, Aug. 26, due to a broken pipe that services the air conditioning for the school.

The first period on Tuesday begins at 7:40 a.m., YUHSD announced.

“The air conditioning was working as expected throughout the weekend,” the district stated. “Thank you to the facilities team for their work to resolve this situation and in ensuring the safety of our students and staff.”

However, a section of the parking lot remains closed due to excavation of the broken pipe. To make before and after school pickups and dropoffs “as smooth as possible,” the district asked parents and students to enter through the west gate and exit through the east gate (see accompanying map).
