MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – State prosecutors filed a criminal case on Tuesday against a school bus driver in Minot, arrested for driving under the influence on the first day of school.

Tomas Podolski faces an A-misdemeanor charge of DUI with a minor.

According to a declaration of probable cause filed in district court, a Ward County deputy responded to Minot Air Force Base shortly before 8 a.m. on Aug. 20 for a report of an intoxicated bus driver. The deputy found an ambulance crew attending to the driver, later identified as Podolski.

The declaration states that base law enforcement found a water bottle on the bus containing what smelled like vodka, and Podolski had slurred speech and poor balance.
