JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Capitol police said a suspect is in custody after a brief standoff at a Jackson home.
The incident occurred on Sidway Street around 3:00 p.m. on September 2, 2025.
Capitol Police Chief Bo Luckey said a woman was outside of the home when officers arrived and had visible injuries. The woman claimed she was involved in an incident with her boyfriend.
Luckey said when officers approached the home, the suspect refused to communicate with officers. The police chief said more units were called to the scene to assist.
According to Luckey, the suspect surrendered after 30 minutes. He said multiple weapons were found inside the home.
The suspect is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center, with charges pending.
