FRANKLIN, Ky. – Anniversaries are often something to celebrate, but for a shelter dog, reaching a year without a home is a heavy milestone.
Sturgill has been at the Simpson County Animal Shelter since last October, spending nearly a year at the shelter.
The shelter describes Sturgill as a friendly, smart adult male dog. Rescuers say he loves people and other dogs – he just needs the chance to show it with a loving home.
“His enthusiasm is contagious, a kind of joyful exuberance that transforms even the most ordinary moment. He’s like Marmaduke come to life, but with better emotional range and a stronger sense of humor,” one volunteer stated.
