(KRON) -- A Santa Rosa man who allegedly threatened to kill his daughter was later arrested by deputies after he shot himself, according to law enforcement officials.

The father was identified as Mauricio Flores, 50. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said it was alerted around 6 p.m. Monday that Flores was threatening to drive to a residence in Guerneville to kill his daughter and a second family member.

Deputies found the father's vehicle parked outside his home on Hampton Way in Santa Rosa and saw Flores retreat inside, investigators said.

Flores barricaded himself in his home and threatened deputies, triggering an hours-long standoff with a SWAT team, negotiators, and deputies, Sgt. Juan Valencia wrote.
