Drake's admiration for wrestling is no secret, but one particular WWE star has caught his eye.
In a Tuesday, Sept. 2 episode of Bobbi Althoff's new "Not This Again" podcast, the "God's Plan" rapper casually mentioned that he considers Australian wrestler Rhea Ripley his muse.
While searching for Tyga's Instagram account, Drake said his app's explore page was flooded by content of the two-time WWE world champion, whose real name is Demi Bennett. Althoff responded, saying that she did not know who Ripley was.
"She's a wrestler, she's like my muse," Drake said. "But she's… I’m the opposite of everything that she likes."
The Grammy winner is no stranger to the WWE world, having made a public appearance at the WWE Elimination Chamber in Toronto in March, according to VICE.
Ripley signed on to WWE back in 2017 and has built a reputation for herself, acquiring nicknames from the "Eradicator" to the "Nightmare." In 2019, she became the first-ever NXT UK Women's Champion and also became a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion.
Drake expressed admiration for the wrestling performer on the first episode of Althoff's new podcast "Not This Again." In 2023, he appeared in a viral − and later deleted − episode of Althoff's breakthrough "Really Good Podcast," which the podcast host said concluded last month.
Drake denies having ab surgery for six-pack
In the podcast episode, Drake also dismissed claims that he underwent cosmetic surgery to improve the aesthetic of his six-pack, which he flaunted in a shirtless selfie posted on his Instagram story in June.
When Althoff asked whether those rumors were true, he replied with a direct "No" but admitted to experimenting with the photo filter through an app before uploading.
"I think it was just like I came from the gym. I was sweaty in that pic," he told Althoff. "Maybe I like heightened the saturation or something on it. I hit it too hard. They don't look like that. You saw them."
Drake's appearance on Althoff's new podcast marked a new era for the host. In 2023, he appeared in a viral − and later deleted − episode of Althoff's breakthrough "Really Good Podcast," which she said concluded last month.
"This one is staying up, probably," Althoff wrote in the episode description of her conversation with Drake. "The show is back, sharper than ever with a new episode every month. It's a more elevated version of my last show — higher stakes and fewer chances of anyone making me delete it."
