Interstate 5 will close for eight hours in both directions in Clark County overnight Sept. 13 to allow crews to install transformer lines near Vancouver’s Main Street overpass.
The closure will begin at 10 p.m. Sept. 13 and run through 6 a.m. Sept. 14, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The closure will allow WSDOT and Bonneville Power Administration crews to finish the power line work faster, a news release said.
“Safety is our top priority for both travelers and road crews,” Matt Calderone, WSDOT highway maintenance supervisor, said in the news release. “Fully closing the highway overnight gives crews the time they need to work safely, and detours ensure travelers can still reach their destinations with minimal delays.”
