An attorney for a former Ringling High School football coach who was accused of abusing his players is set to make a public statement on Tuesday.

Phillip Koons, who in 2023 was accused of verbally abusing and threatening his athletes while employed at the district, was charged with "outraging public decency."

However, in August, those charges were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be refiled in the future.
