TWIN FALLS — A 22-year-old motorist was charged with aggravated assault after police say he brandished a gun and pointed it at another motorist.

The victim told investigators Joseph Boyd Gunter was southbound on U.S. Highway 93 near the Perrine Bridge at about 7 p.m. Friday when Gunter began to brake-check him.

The motorist said he could see Gunter putting a bullet into the firearm’s chamber, records say, and that Gunter pointed the gun at him at least once.

The motorist followed Gunter’s vehicle into a store’s parking lot along Pole Line Road in Twin Falls, court records say, and police responding to the scene found a Canik handgun in Gunter’s brown Subaru, similar to the type of weapon the motorist described.
