WAIMEA, Hawaii (Island News)-- Several Hawaii County first responders were honored Saturday at the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation's 28th annual awards dinner.

Eight firefighters and one police officer were recognized for their outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty.
