DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Over the course of two days, there have been three shootings in Decatur, one of which resulted in the death of a 54-year-old man who was shot multiple times Monday on N Church St. "We take them all very seriously. We're dedicating our resources to try to work on all three of them simultaneously," said Decatur Chief of Police Brad Allen. Monday night, Decatur police responded to a call where a 20-year-old man was shot in his right leg. Police said the victim's statements were inconsistent. Similarly, police responded to a call on Labor Day, where a 54-year-old man was shot. After being transported to the hospital, the victim died from his injuries. Then, Tuesday morning, DPD responded to yet another shooting where a 48-year-old man was shot twice in the chest.
