ROUND ROCK, Texas — Evacuations were ordered after a vehicle hit a building in Round Rock on Tuesday, causing a major gas leak.
According to the Round Rock Firefighters union, the incident happened around 4:08 p.m. in the 3300 block of Forest Creek Drive, near the intersection with Red Bud Lane.
The Round Rock Police Department said the driver, an elderly woman, ran into a condo. She was not injured.
It's believed the crash was accidental.
Due to the gas leak, approximately 12 condo units were temporarily evacuated.
As of around 7:40 p.m., the leak was secured by fire and Atmos Energy crews and residents were allowed back into the area.
