SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Some time in the future, the earth’s temperature has risen, its waters have risen, and a group of humans has banded together to try to make it in the brave new world as they travel up and down the nation’s waterways, spreading joy to those who gather on the water’s edge.
Backed by a musical troupe of invasive mutant fish whose language consists solely of the two-syllable word “wa-da,” the Flotsam River Circus, a merry band of musicians, circus performers, and puppeteers, arrived at the Tina Chorvas Park in Saugerties on Tuesday, Sept. 2, aboard a ragtag raft, aptly named Flotsam.
