KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WDAF) — The president of the Kansas City, Kansas Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4 and Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Sgt. Kyle Hickerson is working to raise money for the family of Officer Hunter Simoncic.

"Officer Simoncic was a very driven officer, very young and very passionate about helping people," Hickerson said.

KCKPD has partnered with the Relentless Defender Foundation to design a T-shirt as part of a fundraiser to honor Simoncic's service and sacrifice.

"Myself, the chief of police and the family, we all came together and decided on that particular design," Hickerson said.

The design includes barbells, a nod to Simoncic's love of working out. The design also includes his badge number and end-of-watch date, Aug. 26, the day the 26-year-old was kille
