LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A Purvis man is under arrest for child exploitation after law enforcement found child pornography on his computer.

The Lamar County Sheriff’s Department arrested 45-year-old Patrick Herrin on August 27, with the assistance of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Herrin faces two counts of child exploitation and one count of possession of a weapon by a felon.

Sheriff Danny Rigel said deputies found child pornography on Herrin’s computer while serving a search warrant. He does not believe, however, that any of the children are local.

Herrin received a $500,000 bond for each of the child exploitation charges and a $5,000 bond for the weapons charge. He has a total bond of $1,005,000.
