John Burroughs tennis player Allie Wayne has one item missing from her impressive high school resume.
The Bombers senior has a fourth-place finish at the state tournament in singles as a freshman, a third-place finish in doubles last year and a runner-up finish in doubles in 2023.
“The one thing that is missing is the state championship, and obviously that is the goal this season,” said Wayne, who has made a commitment to play collegiately at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Wayne got off to a good start in her senior season as she defended her championship at the No. 1 singles spot Tuesday in the Metro League Tournament.
She defeated talented MICDS freshman Ava Sock in the title match 8-5 at the sparkling new tennis facility at MICDS.
