Metro briefs: Fort Wayne's Brewer Park artwork to be dedicated today

Brewer Park sculpture dedication

Local officials, including Mayor Sharon Tucker, are scheduled to participate in a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. today at Brewer Park, 800 E. Pettit Ave.

The ceremony, which is expected to include Steve McDaniel, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation director, will also dedicate the new I Am Allen sculpture in the Brewer Park art garden.

Street parking is available along Weisser Park Avenue and Philley Avenue. Signs will be posted.

Redistricting town hall scheduled

House Democratic Caucus Leader Phil GiaQuinta, D-Fort Wayne, and state Rep. Kyle Miller, D-Fort Wayne, will host a joint town hall titled “Solving Problems, Not Redrawing Maps” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in the downtown Allen County Public Library, Meeting Room A.
