According to SPD, it added experienced investigators and resources to manage an increasing caseload. An investigations sergeant has also been appointed to oversee the operations of the cold case unit.

"This expansion demonstrates a dedicated commitment to justice, ensuring that every case, regardless of its age, receives the thorough investigation it deserves," SPD said in part.
