TROY, NY (NEWS10) -- It is playoff time in the Frontier League and the ValleyCats will be playing postseason baseball for the second consecutive season.

The ValleyCats secured the top wild card spot in the Atlantic Conference with a 62-34 record, good for second best in the entire Frontier League. The only team with a better record than Tri-City, their division rival the Quebec Capitales who won the Atlantic Conference North Division with a 67-29 mark.

As the second-place team, the ValleyCats enter the playoff as the #3 seed in the Atlantic Conference and draw a matchup with the Sussex County Miners, the winners of the East Division. In 6 games against each other this year, the 'Cats and the Miners split their season series.
