There have been no arrests in Sunday’s fatal shooting in Park Heights at around 3 p.m. near a playground.
Nearby residents said a young man died in the shooting, which was captured on a security camera.
“Heard, ‘pop, pop, pop,’ and I was like, ‘That doesn’t sound right,'” said Jen Tsukinta, a Park Heights resident.
Out of the seven homicides in August across the city, three took place in the Park Heights community.
“I do (find it worrisome), because this should be a time for peace and unity — not war, not killing each other,” said Milette Kirlew-Shakes, another resident.
The Aug. 9 mass shooting in the area left a 38-year-old man dead and five others hurt, including a 5-year-old girl.
On Aug. 20, 18-year-old Montrel Books-Davis was shot and killed on Park Heights Avenue.
