A crash involving four vehicles is blocking four lanes of the M25 this morning, causing long delays towards Watford. Anticlockwise traffic was brought to a standstill at J17 (Denham Way) just after 5.30am, and is now being diverted via slip roads.

National Highways expects the motorway to return to normal flow between 8am and 8.15am. Six miles of congestion on the M25 has reached J19 in the meantime, according to live road tracker Inrix.

Drivers should expect queues of around 90 minutes.

Hertfordshire Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
