PICKFORD — This school year, Arielle Haske will be moving away from teaching and stepping into a new role as principal for Pickford Elementary.
Haske is beginning her sixth year at Pickford Public Schools. Originally from St. Ignace, Haske knew she wanted to be a teacher from a young age. Her education career began when a mentor encouraged her to pursue education.
"A mentor of mine said to me one day that I'd be really good at this. At the time, I was going to school for nursing but that plan very quickly changed," said Haske.
The decision to make the change was easy, as Haske always enjoyed working with children and liked a lot about teaching. She changed her major and began getting involved in education programs.
