Fall festivities across the mid-Hudson Valley, from apple and pumpkin picking to hayrides and corn mazes, are not expected to be impacted by autumn's weather shift, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist and Lead U.S. Long Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok.

A cool spell the mid-Hudson Valley has been experiencing recently is only a "precursor" to fall, Pastelok said, and temperatures are expected to warm up again in the second half of September.

The "real transition" to fall has yet to come, and chillier weather won't be coming in too quickly.

"Some people may want to hold off just a little bit longer," Pastelok said about taking your air conditioners out — a couple of those warmer late September days could get a bit uncomfortable or a little stuffy.
