A man is due to appear before court after police vehicles were allegedly rammed and a quantity of drugs was recovered.

West Midlands Police said a vehicle, which was believed to have been stolen, failed to stop for officers in Smethwick .

The driver then allegedly rammed two police vehicles before exiting their vehicle in the early hours of Sunday (August 31).

However, the driver was quickly arrested and a quantity of drugs was recovered.

The force said that a man called Lewis Wilson, aged 23, has been charged with a number of offences and was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today (September 2).
