As heavy downpours continue to batter Kent this week, the Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings which cover the county. The first is for rain and came into effect overnight at 12am.
It will remain in place for a total of 14 hours, until 2pm this afternoon (September 3), and covers much of the south and westerly regions of Kent, ending just outside of Ashford and encompassing Lydd, Tunbridge Wells , Tenterden, Cranbrook and parts of Tonbridge . Alongside this, a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms will be in effect from 11am today.
It will be in place until 8pm tonight and cover the remainder of Kent. Canterbury, Thanet, Sittingbourne, Sheppey, the Medway towns, Dartford and Gravesend are all blanketed by this thunderstorm warning.
