Scotland was lucky enough to enjoy an incredibly sunny summer. In fact, the Met Office confirmed that it was the UK's hottest on record thanks to its many heatwaves.
But summer is well and truly over now - and the weather is certainly reflecting that. Meteorological autumn officially began on Monday, September 1, and the new season has been a bit of a washout so far.
It is showing no signs of changing in the coming days at least, with the Met Office issuing a number of yellow weather warnings across the UK. There are rain and thunderstorm alerts covering much of Southern England today, Wednesday, September 2, and another thunderstorm warning for the Midlands tomorrow, Thursday, September 3.
