What is the ballot measure?
The measure, numbered Measure 20-373, has been titled by proponents "The Lane County Watersheds Bill of Rights."
Petitioners said the measure will establish stronger legal protections for local watersheds and clean water. The measure text states in part that:
Watersheds (such as rivers, lakes and aquifers) "possess inalienable rights to naturally exist, flourish, regenerate, and evolve."
Lane County residents have a right to clean drinking water.
