Elderly and disabled people living in Scotland using the National Entitlement Card (NEC) will see changes to the cost of travel on public transport this month. The card gives holders free bus travel in Scotland and, through the Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme, free or reduced fares on trains and Subway journeys in the Strathclyde area. ‌

It adds that train journeys on other services will continue to be charged at half the standard operator fare- a 50 per cent discount. ‌
