The exhibitions are part of a full slate of activities celebrating the launch of the Georgian Bay Islanders after the merger of the Penetang and Midland minor hockey associations. Proceeds go to reducing costs for players.
The Sting have tried for a few years to do a pre-season getaway and give players more time together. General manager Dylan Seca is happy finally to have one while also benefiting his hometown minor hockey organization.
