ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A rescue is searching for answers after a puppy died from injuries sustained when he was thrown from a moving car in Rockdale County.

According to the Semper Fi Legacy Rescue, it happened recently in the area of Rockaway Road when a witness saw the incident and called animal control for help.

“In a situation like this, you’re praying to God, you’re crying, you’re angry, you’re yelling,” Jordan Lowe, president of Semper Fi Legacy Rescue, said. “We just want justice. People have got to start having consequences to their actions. They can’t treat animals this way and keep getting away with it.”

Lowe said the 3-month-old Cane Corso was rushed from Rockdale County to an emergency vet in Cherokee County after the Semper Fi Legacy Rescue got the call.
