Come Saturday, we will be ready to play, that’s the view of Fife Flyers’ new coach, Jamie Russell, ahead of their weekend double-header against Dundee Stars.

The Kirkcaldy-based, Elite League outfit travel to Tayside on Saturday (7pm) before entertaining Stars as The Fife Ice Arena on Sunday (5pm). These are two pre-season, challenge games, the fixture schedule having been altered after a Romanian touring side could not travel to Kirkcaldy last weekend.

Two players absent from training on Wednesday – minor ailments, nothing to worry about – but practice was good and the squad worked on systems ahead of the pre-season opener on Tayside.
