FIFA will begin selling World Cup 2026 tickets later this month, the soccer governing body announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2025.
Here are the cheapest and most expensive tickets available for retail:
The lowest ticket price will be $60 – for a Category 4 ticket during group stage matches.
The most expensive ticket price will be $6,730 – for a Category 1 ticket during the World Cup final.
However, variable or dynamic pricing could affect how much those prices could fluctuate based on demand before they hit the resell market.
Dynamic pricing was a major focal point regarding ticket sales during the FIFA Club World Cup hosted in the United States earlier this summer, with ticket prices dropping significantly for some matches.
Tickets for the Club World Cup final between winner Chelsea and runner-up Paris Saint-Germain were lowered twice – two days before, and a day before the July 13 match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
World Cup revenues will be distributed among the 211 member institutions to grow the game of soccer globally, FIFA World Cup 26 chief operating officer Heimo Schirgi said during a Sept. 2 media briefing.
“We’re looking at optimizing revenue, but also, optimizing attendance in the stadiums,” Schirgi said. “It’s always a balance between different factors.”
FIFA announced a presale for potential World Cup ticket buyers from Sept. 10-19, with draw winners having the ability to purchase tickets from designated time slots between Oct. 1 to Oct. 21. One million World Cup tickets will be available during this first wave of ticket sales.
The next wave of World Cup ticket sales will occur in November, after the World Cup draw on Dec. 5 then in the early stages of 2026. Dates will be announced at later times.
The FIFA official said staggering the tickets sales in this fashion will avoid system overloading, and allow dynamic pricing to adjust within each window.
Esentially, it's not a free-for-all like buying tickets for a Taylor Swift concert.
“I would say what differentiates us to other events that are subject to dynamic pricing is the fact that we are regulating the access to the tickets,” Schirgi said. “It is a selected group, which means that the curve of how the prices are adjusted are not as steep, and are more balanced across the different phases.”
While the World Cup match schedule is already set, matchups not featuring host nations will be determined following the World Cup draw on Dec. 5.
The U.S. Men’s National Team (Group D) will play group stage matches in Los Angeles on June 12, 2026, Seattle on June 19, 2026, and Los Angeles again on June 25, 2026.
Mexico (Group A) will play in the World Cup's opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11, 2026. They will also play on June 18 in Guadalajara and June 24 in Mexico City.
Canada (Group B) will play group stage matches in Toronto on June 12, 2026, and Vancouver on June 18, 2026 and June 24, 2026.
The World Cup final will be played at MetLife Stadium on July 19, 2026.
