SANDPOINT, Idaho - Crews begin lane closures next week on the Long Bridge that leads into Sandpoint, focusing traffic impacts on overnight hours.

The Idaho Transportation Department is conducting a six-week project to address joints and improve winter maintenance operations.

The work will go from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

ITD is also working with the school district to accommodate teams and families traveling for sporting events.

On nights of varsity games, crews will start later.

ITD acknowledges the frustrations many drivers have, as this is the third year in a row of work on the bridge.
