REDDING, Calif. - Caltrans District 2 is set to begin a significant bridge maintenance project on Sept. 8 in Shasta County. This $4 million venture will focus on repairing 11 bridges to enhance travel and goods movement.
The project will involve various repairs, including polyester concrete overlays and joint seals. Motorists should be prepared for lane and ramp closures at several locations, including Interstate 5 and Highway 89 bridges.
Caltrans has advised drivers to slow down and follow temporary speed limits in construction areas. The work, led by McCuen Construction, Inc., is expected to be completed by the end of the year, although a winter suspension may be required depending on weather and operations.
