STATEWIDE -- Members of the Maine Legislature are urging Northern Light Health and Anthem to continue negotiations.

The deadline is approaching for their contact to end which would mean Northern Light is no longer in network for anthem if they can not agree on a new contract.

In a letter sent to both parties, lawmakers say they are happy to hear they have agreed to mediation.

In that letter lawmakers say quote “With roughly 30,000 Maine people covered by Anthem health insurance plans who would lose their in-network coverage at Northern Light facilities, failure to come to an agreement would have a significant and immediate negative impact across the state.
