AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died in a crash between a vehicle and an Amtrak train in Williamson County late Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office posted on social media shortly before 11 a.m. that there was a "major accident involving an Amtrak Train and Vehicle at SH 79 and County Road 110."
That area is between Hutto and Round Rock. Amtrak said via email that the train was traveling from San Antonio to Chicago when it "came into contact with a vehicle south of Taylor, Texas."
